EXPERIENCED TRIAL ATTORNEY
Solveig Store Deuprey
has been a licensed attorney for over 35 years with broad experience
including civil litigation, family law, medical malpractice defense,
personal injury, probate and real property law.
She has been a founding partner of several law firms and built a successful
law practice from the ground up immediately after graduating from law
school in 1978. Ms. Deuprey has extensive
courtroom experience, including argument before the Fourth District Court
of Appeal. She has also taught community property law as an adjunct
professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
LEGAL EDUCATION AND
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
Ms. Deuprey
received her legal education from University of San Diego School of Law
where she earned a J.D. degree, cum laude, in 1978, followed by her
admission to the California Bar in November 1978. While she attended the
University of San Diego School of Law, she represented UCSD at the State
Moot Court Championships, and won the St. Thomas More Moot Court
Competition. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Deuprey
received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Portland
in 1974, graduating maxima cum laude in three years. In January 1978, Ms. Deuprey founded the general practice law firm of
Stetson & Store in La Jolla. Stetson and Store represented clients in
wide variety of legal matters, including civil litigation, construction defect,
mechanic's lien, fraud, plaintiff's personal injury cases, family law
matters, probate and estate planning, drafting contracts and agreements,
landlord-tenant litigation, incorporations and business advice, adoptions,
paternity and immigration. While with Stetson & Store, she successfully
argued and defended a Marvin v. Marvin palimony claim before the Fourth
District Court of Appeal. In 1983, Ms. Store became a founding partner of
Store & Vanderhoff, a general practice
emphasizing family law cases and including dissolution proceedings,
preparation of premarital agreements, adoption, probate estate
administration, construction defect litigation, landlord-tenant litigation,
real estate negotiations, sale of business, personal injury, drafting lease
agreements, resolution of contract disputes, URESA action, and
incorporations. She became a Certified Family Law Specialist in May, 1985
and practiced with Store & Vanderhoff until
July 1987 when she took a sabbatical from law practice to raise three
children. While Ms. Deuprey was not actively
involved in the private practice of law, she developed and managed
residential and multi-unit real estate projects and contributed time and
effort to numerous community philanthropies. In 1998, Ms. Deuprey returned to law practice as an associate with Wingert, Grebing, Brubaker
and Ryan, where she handled the defense of personal injury, auto and
medical malpractice cases. Ms. Deuprey
reactivated her family law practice at that time, serving as the sole
attorney in the firm to handle family law cases. In June 2000, Ms. Deuprey and her husband, Dan H. Deuprey,
founded Deuprey Law Firm, LLP, where she acts as
managing partner and continues her family law and litigation practice. Ms. Deuprey's professional affiliations have included the
San Diego County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the San Diego
County Bar, San Diego Defense Lawyers, Association of Business Trial
Lawyers and SDHARM.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
In addition to her extensive professional
accomplishments, Ms. Deuprey has served in the
following volunteer capacities: Board President for Girl Scouts - San
Diego/Imperial County (2008 - 2011); Director for the Girl Scouts -
San Diego/Imperial County Board of Directors (2004-2008); President and
Director of the University of San Diego School of Law Alumni Board
(1997-2001); Member-at-large of the Torrey Pines High School Foundation
Board (2001-2004);Trustee of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Board
(1997-1999); Volunteer Attorney for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers
Program; Girl Scout Troop Leader for twelve years; and Boy Scout High
Adventure Committee Chair for Boy Scout Troop #11 (2003-2007).
